We wanted to start an insurance company to help people protect themselves from financial ruin in the event of catastrophe.  We secured the insurance bonds with our farmland.  Instantly, we were able to sell $1,000,000.00 in bonds and more.  This put seven people to work as surety agents and we sold millions of dollars of surety bonds during the first few years of business.  The inspiration was using paid for vacant farmland as security.
